- TESTED the panel, the drawer and one completed sale, 2026-11-04
- IN-GAME GIVE THE CHANGE, RECEIVED, TOTAL, CHANGE, GIVEN, AUTO
- OFFICIAL ONLY no store page describes the till at all
- NEEDS CHECK whether a wrong amount is refused or quietly accepted, and what AUTO costs
What the panel prints
The monitor behind the counter is the till. During a sale it replaces the idle
TOTAL: $0.00 with a panel headed GIVE THE CHANGE and four labelled rows:
| Row | What it is | Example from a capture |
|---|---|---|
RECEIVED | the note the customer handed you | $100.00 |
TOTAL | what the basket costs | $8.40 |
CHANGE | what has to go back, already calculated | $91.60 |
GIVEN | what you have put on the counter so far | $90.00 |
That table is one frame, caught mid-sale: GIVEN sat at $90.00 against a
CHANGE of $91.60, so the customer had not been paid out yet. The sale we
watched finish is the smaller one below.
CHANGE is RECEIVED minus TOTAL, and the game does that subtraction for you.
The work is in GIVEN: you have to reach CHANGE exactly, and the two numbers
sit on the same panel so you can watch GIVEN climb towards it.
A second sale we watched went the other way: RECEIVED $0.99, TOTAL $0.99,
CHANGE $0.00, GIVEN $0.00. A customer paying the exact amount asks nothing
of you — one press on OK ends it.
The drawer
The drawer panel holds ten buttons, and every one of them is a real denomination rather than a generic "pay" action:
- bills —
$1,$5,$10,$20,$50 - coins —
1c,5c,10c,25c,50c
Each bill carries a face and a title printed on it, and the titles are jokes
rather than a currency: the $1 is HANDSOME MONKEY, the $5 is UNEMPLOYED,
the $10 is EMPLOYEE, the $20 is CELEBRITY, the $50 is MISS PRESIDENT.
Treat those as decoration — they change nothing about the arithmetic, and the
game never asks you to recognise them.
The four buttons
OK(green) ends the transaction.C(red) clears what you have placed, back toGIVEN: $0.00.- the arrow (blue) undoes the last note or coin you put down.
AUTO(blue, with a clapperboard icon) reads as a one-press way to let the game fill the change; we never pressed it, so that is the label's promise, not our measurement.
AUTO is the one we did not use, and that is deliberate: we do not know whether
it charges anything, and a guide that says "just press AUTO" before
knowing that would be guessing.
What we have not confirmed
Two things stay open and are marked as such wherever they appear on this site.
We have not handed over the wrong amount on purpose, so we cannot say whether
the game refuses it, corrects it, or quietly accepts a loss. And we have not
watched a payout with a bill larger than $100, so the top of RECEIVED is
unknown rather than unlimited.
