THREE GAMES CALLED SUPERMARKET SIMULATOR

The name collides. A Steam game, a browser build and a lookalike on the same portal all answer to "Supermarket Simulator", and the guides written for one of them read like mistakes when you are playing another. This page is the disambiguation, written from the store pages rather than from memory.

The middle row is the one most guides are written for. The bottom row is the one most likely to be mistaken for ours, because it sits on the same portal, in the same tag row, one card away.

How to tell you are reading about the right game

Four checks, in the order they take a second:

  1. Is there a download? Ours never asks. If a guide tells you to install something or pick a save folder on disk, it is not about this build.
  2. Does the screen say SHOP LVL? Ours prints it in the top right corner next to a green cash figure. That block is the fingerprint of this build.
  3. Does the till ask you to GIVE THE CHANGE? Ours hands you a panel with RECEIVED, TOTAL, CHANGE and GIVEN and makes you build the difference from bills and coins.
  4. Is the developer named anywhere? The portal page says Famobi and HTML5. The Steam page says Nokta Games. They are different studios, so they are different games, whatever the title bar suggests.

What the other two are, in their own words

The Steam listing describes a first-person shop sim: stock the shelves, set prices against a live market, work the till, clean the floor, watch for shoplifters, and play with up to three friends. It sells for money, lists 20 interface languages, and shipped into Early Access in February 2024 with a 1.0 release in June 2025.

Dream Store, the card beside ours on the portal, is a browser game with a cartoon cover and a shopper holding a basket. We have not opened it, and this page does not describe what happens inside it.

What this site promises

Everything in this manual was read off the browser build, on the dates printed on each page, with the client version in the footer. Where a mechanic belongs to one of the other two games, this site does not cover it, and where we have not confirmed something we say so instead of borrowing an answer from the Steam guides.

What we have not confirmed

Whether the browser build licenses art or code from the Steam game. Whether Dream Store is by the same studio as ours. Whether a mobile app-store version of any of the three exists with the same mechanics. All three are guesses we could have made and did not.
